Perhaps for the first time, two of the most sought-after stars of Hindi films, Aamir Khan and Katrina Kaif have come together in the same photo frame for ‘Cine Blitz Gold Love and Longing’, a coffee table book that pays tribute to the Hindi film industry.

On the cover of the book, celebrating 35 years of CineBlitz, both Aamir and Kat dress up and pose like Guru Dutt and Waheeda Rahman did for the poster of ‘Pyaasa’.

At the launch of the book in Mumbai on Monday, Aamir said, he wasn’t certain that he and Kat would be able to recreate the golden magic of Guru Dutt and Waheeda Rahman.

“I was wondering whether we would get it right and how close we would come to the original. My effort went into trying to bring Guru Dutt back into life. It was a great moment for me,” he said at the book’s launch.

Katrina too admitted she was surprised when approached to pose for the cover with Aamir.

“When I was asked first, I was very surprised. But it was very special being able to recreate such a magical moment,” she said.

Also present at the launch was Vijay Mallya, the chairman of VJM Media Private limited which publishes CineBlitz.
